Bruichladdich Brings Out The Octomore 10’s

Islay Distillery Bruichladdich has released the Octomore 10’s – a series of four heavily peated single malts.

Bruichladdich Octomore 10.1 was distilled from Scottish barley harvested in 2013, then matured in ex-American oak barrels for five years and bottled at 59.8% alcohol by volume [119.6 proof].

Bruichladdich Octomore 10.2 has been matured in both first-fill ex-American oak casks and third-fill French oak casks which previously held Sauternes wine, was bottled at 56.9% alcohol by volume [113.8 proof] and is said to contain notes of tropical fruit.

Bruichladdich Octomore 10.3 was distilled in 2013 from a 2012 barley harvest, matured for six years in ex-American oak casks and bottled at 61.3% alcohol by volume [122.6 proof].

Last but not least is Bruichladdich’s Octomore 10.4 – distilled in 2016 from a 2015 barley harvest and matured a mere three years in heavily toasted Limousin oak casks, then bottled at 63.5% alcohol by volume [127 proof].

Bruichladdich Octoomore 10.1 and 10.3 are currently available worldwide while Bruichladdich Octomore 10.2 is only available in travel retail venues and Bruichladdich Octomore 10.4 will be released in January 2020.
