So I've got a quick trip planned to Fort Lauderdale for January. Not sure if I'll have a lot of time to spend wandering around bars and stuff but if someone is from around there then let me know of some places worth a look. Any places that make their own delicious beer that I can't get anywhere else?

Well the coconut grove area is where a number of bars are located. You may try there, to see if there is anything that strikces your fancy. I am not sure what other areas of Miami would be likely places to look.

I have only been there once but I would suggest the Abbey Brewing Company. They brew their own beer there. It is really quite good and a great place to check out if you get the chance.

Thanks Sue, I'll keep it in mind and see if I can find the time to go.

Normally, I would be jealous of someone going to Miami in January, but it is so warm here right now. I don't think I am missing anything! Maybe swimming, not quite warm enough to take a dip in the lake...unless you are hardy!

Well I just hope you have a good time. It is always nice ot have some fun in the sun. Even though we have had a non winter so far, it could always get cold and be a problem later on...so you may as well make hay while the sun shines!!

Omg! So jealous. The Miami beach sounds amazing right now considering the windchill is 13 degrees. Even tho our winter has been mild up until this past week, I could only dream of being somewhere that I didn't have to spend 20 minutes putting on layers of clothes to just walk to the mailbox!

Miami is defintely a great place to visit any time of the year. I was there once in June, and thought it would be humid and nasty, because I was once in Tampa then...but it wasn't bad at all. There was a nice balmy breeze blowing the whole time, and I really enjoyed it!

Yeah, their weather could serve as a major attraction. It's a cool place at any time. Any residents here?

Oh I miss Florida. It has been many years since I've been there but I loved it. I loved the hot sun and the beautiful breeze. That water is so warm when you go swimming! I enjoyed the cheap booze compared to here in Canada. I could get so much for my money there! :) I will have to plan other trip there soon! I hear it calling my name!
