I've been an avid smoker of the so-called nargile aka hookah.

I like the fact that there are plenty of flavors to choose from, most of them contain no nicotine and they are healthier for you than cigarettes (assuming you don't smoke hookah on a daily basis). They are also more socially inclined than cigarettes since you can all share one piece while cigarettes are something most refrain from sharing.

I'd like to hear your thought regarding hookahs. What are your favorite flavors, environments in which you find it best to use them, do you like doing tricks with the smoke, do you feel lightheaded when you over-smoke and your overall thoughts on the culture behind this piece of smoking equipment and the technology behind it.

I have never tried Hookah but i would be open to it. It would be fun to go to a Hookah lounge with some friends and I would enjoy it I am sure.

I used to enjoy the Hookah every now and then, but for some reason it kind of got old and it was just trendy. I am not sure I will be trying it again.

I like it at first a lot and thought about how good it is, since it is not that unhealthy as the cigars are, but later on I realized it's also pretty unhealthy it is just that we don't consume it every day. Lately I noticed that I have a hard time consuming the smoke from hookah, but it happens sometimes not always. Probably because of the coal.

None for me. I hate smoking and cannot tolerate others doing it in front of me as well. The smell of hookah, and cigars and cigarette always leave me nauseated.

I used to smoke only cigarettes until a few years ago when I realized that it was really starting to affect my health. I couldn't breathe properly and food just didn't taste the same anymore. Also I was experiencing a lot of unintentional weight loss, so I decided to quit.

They're really fun to use if you have friends over. I own a hookah at my house with different types of flavor and people always take advantage of it.

Hookah/ Shisha pipes use tobacco sweetened with fruit or molasses sugar, which makes the smoke more aromatic than cigarette smoke. Popular flavourings include apple, plum, coconut, mango, mint, strawberry and cola. Wood, coal, or charcoal is burned in the shisha pipe to heat the tobacco and create the smoke because the fruit syrup or sugar makes the tobacco damp.

When you smoke shisha, you and anyone sitting near you are breathing in smoke which releases toxins including carbon monoxide and heavy metals –reducing your body’s ability to carry oxygen around in your blood.
Traditionally shisha contains tobacco, so like cigarettes it contains nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide and heavy metals, such as arsenic and lead. As a result, shisha smokers are at risk of the same kinds of diseases as cigarette smokers, such as heart disease, cancer, respiratory disease and problems during pregnancy.

I agree. Hookah especially is borderline disgusting for me.

More and more places keep popping up around here for this purpse so it is definitely getting more popular. I enjoy it from time to time but it is kind of rare.

It is definitely enjoyable but the buzz is slightly weak.

What I hate the most about hookah is that the same mouthpiece is being used over and over again by different people. This makes me look down upon hookah even more.

That process is pretty gross and transfers germs.

I haven't tried it yet, but as an intermittent smoker I'm not too keen in trying it.

If you smoke at times than you might enjoy the flavored version of smoke. In my case, neither do I smoke nor I enjoy the flavored versions.
