I will not agree with your last statement. Every person has some or the other stress in his life. This does not validate his smoking or addiction to any such stuff which is deterimental for the health. There are many other unharmful ways of relieving stress.
It is not a question of problems and difficulties which we face in life. It is our way of dealing with them which steals the show. Seeping into activities like smoking can give momentarily relief but all at the sake of your good health.
