Glen Moray Offers Whisky With Agricole Rum Finish
As an addition to their Elgin Curiosity series, Glen Moray has released a single malt Scotch whisky finished in a cask that previously held agricole rum – rum distilled directly from sugar cane juice [as opposed to molasses or fermented sugar cane juice]. In this case, Glen Moray’s agricole rum comes from Martinique-based St James Rhum, which provided the distillery with casks that had held the agricole rum for between 10 and 18 years.
Glen Moray Rhum Agricole Cask Finish was finished in the rum casks for two years, bottled at 46.3% alcohol by volume [92.6 proof] and is said to contain notes of burnt sugar, toffee and sweet vanilla.
Glen Moray Rhum Agricole Cask Finish is being made available for $65 per 700ml bottle.
