Jameson Makes Caskmates Of Beer And Whiskey
Irish whiskey iconic brand, Jameson, has collaborated with an Irish distillery and Irish brewery to produce Caskmates – an Irish whiskey which has spent some time in the brewery’s beer barrels. Jameson worked with Midleton Distillery and Franciscan Wells Brewery to produce the 40% alcohol content [80 proof] whisky that had resided in the barrels of Irish stout beer for three months before being finished in whisky barrels. The result was a whisky with butterscotch and coffee notes to go along with the hops note.
2000 bottles of Jameson Caskmates was launched in Ireland in 2013 but a larger bottling was launched in the USA this month with each bottle retailing for $30.
