Jura Reveals 21 Bottles Of 44-Year-Old
There is rare and then there is very rare and in the very rare category is the recent release of only 21 bottles of Jura Very Rare Vintage 1975 single malt whisky, which will be available in travel retail venues in airports in Asia.
Jura Very Rare Vintage 1975 was first matured in small batch American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then aged for an additional six years in tawny Port pipes from the Douro Valley in Portugal, before being bottled at 46.2% alcohol by volume [92.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of honey, nectarines and vanilla.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the 21 bottles of Jura Very Rare Vintage 1975 are being made available for $8,545 per bottle [although with each bottle, you will receive a presentation box that comes with a 50ml miniature and a book detailing the story behind the bottling, so there is that].
