Prince Charles Offers Peasants 184 Bottles Of His 1988 Royal Lochnagar Whisky
Mere peasants will have the chance to purchase 184 of Prince Charles’ 206 bottles of 1988 Royal Lochnagar Highland single malt whisky when they become available through The Whisky Exchange ballot beginning on December 31, 2018.
Once all 184 bottles have been purchased, another bottle will be auctioned, one more will be placed in the Diageo Archive, and the remaining 20 will be retained by The Prince’s Foundation – Prince Charles’ charity – for further fundraising.
The 1988 Royal Lochnagar Scotch whisky was bottled on Prince Charles’ 70th birthday [November 14, 2018] and was matured in an American oak hogshead cask and is said to contain notes of blackcurrant, coconut and marzipan.
Each bottle of 1988 Royal Lochnagar will be made available via ballot for $1,875 per bottle and the ballot will be live until January 27, 2019.
Those interested in entering the ballot can register on www.thewhiskyexchange.com/RoyalLochnagar.
