The GlenAllachie Has Some Woodies
The GlenAllachie has released a trio of single malts for their first-ever Wood Finish Series – an eight-year-old Koval Rye Quarter Cask Wood Finish, 10-year-old Port Wood Finish, and 12-year-old Pedro Ximénez Sherry Wood Finish.
The GlenAllachie Koval Rye Quarter Cask Wood Finish was matured in American oak barrels, then additionally in organic rye quarter casks from Chicago’s Koval Distillery and is said to contain notes of cloves and spice.
The GlenAllachie 10-year-old Port Wood Finish was matured in American oak barrels, then additionally in ruby Port wood pipes from north Portugal and is said to contain notes of butterscotch and honey, butterscotch.
The GlenAllachie Pedro Ximénez Sherry Wood Finish was matured for more than 10 years in American oak wood barrels, then additionally in Pedro Ximénez puncheons and is said to contain notes of dark chocolate, raisins and toffee.
The GlenAllachie Koval Rye Quarter Cask Wood Finish and Port Wood Finish are both being made available for $70 per bottle while The GlenAllachie Pedro Ximénez Sherry Wood Finish is being made available for $75 per bottle.
