The Vaults Collection Emerges From The Scotch Malt Whisky Society
The Vaults Collection has emerged from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society – with the launch of a pair of single cask single malt whiskies – ‘In A Perfumed Garden’, a 26-year-old single malt from the former [1993] Lowland distillery and ‘Meeting An Old Master’, a 27-year-old single malt from a Speyside distillery.
‘In A Perfumed Garden’ was matured in a refill barrel then transferred to a second-fill Sauternes hogshead cask for 18 months before languishing in a second-fill bourbon barrel for a year.
‘Meeting An Old Master’ emerges from a single cask of Speyside whisky distilled in 1990 and matured in an ex-Oloroso sherry cask before moving on to a first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry butt.
A scant 170 bottles of “In A Perfumed Garden” will be made available at a cost of $1,180 per bottle, while only 437 bottles of ‘Meeting An Old Master’ will be made available for $1,325 per bottle – both in October 2017 in Asia, the UK and USA.
