My name is Martin and I live in Scotland. I love fine things in life, such as gourmet food, travelling around the world and, last but not least, whisky (naturally, I’m partial to a tipple of whiskey or bourbon as well). I have tasted hundreds of whiskies during the recent years and I finally decided to share my experience.

I’ve got half a bottle hiding in the cabinet, and my local liquor emporium has tons more . . .

I just came back from a weeks vacation in Cozumel, Mexico. The resort had 2 bourbons, Jim Beam and the Very Old Barton. I had never even heard of Very Old Barton. Truth is I thought both tasted very similar.

We were in Paducah Kentucky, Oct,2013 (my wife was in an art class) she is a whiskey (social drinker) enthusiast, and really has strong impressions on whiskeys, and we ran into this Very Old Barton at a small distillery “They did not make this brand” but they had a small supply for sale, and my wife not knowing anything about it bought a small bottle, well one big “Disappointment”!!! was that she did not buy all the small bottles She uses what she has sparingly, as we are in Montana, no one has it, and Montana does not allow alcoholic products to be shipped here!!!BAD
