Wemyss Pulls Six Malts From Up Its Sleeve
Wemyss Malts has added six new single cask whiskies – ranging from 18 to 35 years old – to its whisky portfolio. The six whiskies include whiskies from the major regions [Speyside, Islay and the Highlands] as well as a single grain release named Rosy Apple Brûlée.
The new single cask whiskies are:
Shellfish Platter 1997 (18 year-old) single cask from Bowmore Distillery, Islay
Waffles and Ice Cream 1997 (18) single cask, cask-strength from Clynelish Distillery, Highlands
Chocolate Orange Segment (18) single cask from Glenrothes Distillery, Speyside
Flambé Fruit 1995 (20) single cask from Mortlach Distillery, Speyside
Rosy Apple Brûlée 1988 (27) single cask, single grain from Invergordon Distillery
The Admiral’s Beacon 1980 (35) single cask from Caol Ila Distillery, Islay;
Each cask is limited to only a few hundred bottles and will carry suggested retail prices ranging from $120 to $350 – but with the caveat of only being available in selected markets in Asia, Europe and the UK.
