What Can You Put In Mizunara Casks?
Why, some whiskey from the state of Washington in the good ol’ US of A, of course! More specifically Bainbridge Organic Distillers have placed whiskey born in the state’s Skagit Valley inside a Japanese cask made from the Mizunara oak trees grown on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido, essentially making it the world’s first non-Japanese whiskey aged exclusively in virgin Japanese Mizunara casks. Bainbridge Yama Mizunara Cask Whiskey is bottled at 45% alcohol content [90 proof].
Only 200 bottles of Bainbridge Yama Mizunara Cask Whiskey will be available for $495 per 750ml bottle beginning in March 2016.
