What Has Glenmorangie Got Up Their Sleeve?
The Glenmorangie Distillery has released Milsean – the seventh release in their Private Edition collection of Highland single malt Scotch whiskies and the first to be extra-matured in heavily toasted Portuguese red wine casks. Milsean (Gaelic for ‘sweet things’ and pronounced Meel-shawn) was first matured in ex-bourbon oak casks before spending some time in casks that had contained Portuguese red wine and were charred before usage.
Due to the charring, Glenmorangie Milsean features notes of sugar cane, fruit and fudge. Glenmorangie Milsean was bottled at 46% alcohol content [92 proof] and will be available for $110 per bottle beginning on January 19, 2016.
