Considered a modern classic, the Bourbon Renewal was created roughly 20 years ago by Jeffrey Morgenthaler. It's a balance of bold bourbon with tart lemon, sweet black currants, and a touch of spice. THE BOURBON RENEWAL RECIPE 3:01
2 oz. (60 ml) Buffalo Trace Bourbon
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Jules Theuriet Crème de Cassis de Dijon
1 oz. (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) semi-rich simple syrup (1.5:1)
1-2 dashes Angostura Bitters
