    Budget Irish Whiskey

My favourite is Paddy Irish Whisky which costs about $22. Nothing subtle or complex here — toffee, vanilla, oak, and pepper are the stronger cards in this blended whiskey.

    Would Aged Vodka Become Whisky?

Okay, I know it's not that simple, but recently I tasted some "rye vodka" as it was being distilled and wondered what would happen if it was put in a barrel and aged. Aside from the differences in making Scotch versus Bourbon or other "Whiskies" ... what would actually happen if you aged a...

How Do You Prefer To Drink Your Whisky?

I always take my whiskey mixed with a soda especially a coke. If I take it raw I always throw up I don't know why.

    Snacks With Whisky

Whiskey is a great complement to chocolate, especially dark chocolate. The more cacao, the better. I always go with dark chocolate Hershey's Kisses for an unpretentious dessert when some store lack the Hershey's Extra Dark squares I usually prefer.

Adding A Little Water Or Not.....

When enjoying bourbon, does a splash of water really open up and improve flavors? I am a bit of skeptic on this issue. A hospitality host at a major distiller said adding a few drops of water to bourbon will open a bunch of additional flavors and nuances. The bourbon we were sampling was a 86-90...

    A Whiskey Question

Is drinking whiskey neat (100-150 ml in one gulp) more harmful than drinking the same amount in the form of watered down pegs (50 ml with 150 ml water)?

    Smoking Ritual.

There are times when you smoke just because you have a craving and there are times when the smoke helps you relax. There are those activities you always do while smoking. They may include, sitting at the balcony enjoying nature, driving around, accompanying cigars with beer. What's your ritual?

How Often Do You Drink Whiskey?

I don't measure how much I take but I know it's about two shots of 100-125 ml three nights in one week. I do this as I alternate with beer ( 4 to 5 beers every weekend afternoon ) and wine ( just one bottle every weekend ). However, if it's at a party or dinner I can take all that is mentioned...

Whаt Is Thе Diffеrеnсе Bеtwееn Whiskеy Аnd Bоurbоn?

Whisky is mostly made from malted barley while bourbon is distilled from corn. The difference can also be geographic, different regions make different bourbon and whisky. The process of processing and storage is also different.

    Difference Between Whisky And Brandy.

Brandy is distilled wine and Whisky is distilled beer. Consequently they have slightly different flavour sets and you will likely find you prefer one or the other. Brandy tends to be subtler and the results of the barrel storage (i.e. flavours of caramel and vanilla and dried fruit) are more...

    Temperature.

I ordered some cigars but they arrived when I was away for three days. The box stayed at my doorstep at less than 10 degrees temperature. Could they been damaged ? Is the damage permanent?

I Want To Try New Bourbon.

I'm self taught when it comes to bourbon and I've loved it for quite some time. I started with Jim Beam White, Jack Daniels and Evan Williams then moved up to Maker's Mark and Bulleit. I feel the urge to widen the scope and try new stuff. If it's of higher quality, the better. I know most guys...

    Cloudy Beer.

Hi guys, I have a problem with my keg. I do everything that pertains storing the beer in the keg. From crushing, cooling, adding finings and filtering. It's crystal clear when getting into the keg but when drawing beer from the keg it's always cloudy. What am I missing?

    Suntory Whisky.

I'd like to know if anyone in this forum has had some experience with the Suntory Whisky. My friend took it from his grandfather's liquor cabinet. He was actually using it as a disinfectant. I sipped it and it was the finest wine I'd ever tasted. Someone with more information about it can share.
