Agreed. Maybe I'm getting older, but getting blitzed is no longer a huge draw anymore. Sure, a nice buzz is a thing of beauty, but "stumbling/vomiting/regretting drunk" is just not fun nor wise.

I'm not a huge fan of sweet mixed drinks, but the Flaming Doctor Pepper at the Gold Mine Saloon in New Orleans is pretty good and, well, pretty weird.

Big +1 to this. There are few things as enjoyable a siping some good drinks, smoking a fine cigar, looking at the stars, and enjoying some peace and quiet. On a really hot night, I love a TnT (Tequila and Tonic) and Rocky Patel. Thank goodness summer is here. :)

I've never gotten in trouble with the law whilst drinking. I have said things that I shouldn't have and worried a spouse a few times when I had too much though. Alcohol enhances life if done right, but it can make it a nightmare if done wrong. As with all things, moderation and knowing...

Oysters are indeed an acquired taste. They aren't for everyone, that is for sure. I do enjoy them served in a lot of different ways though. P.S. A good sushi hits the spot. mmmm

I have to admit I've done that before. Or just had a light snack and some beer. It is the best for one's health, but I don't know that every now and again is the end of the world.

It is pretty old school and it isn't exactly top shelf, but I've always liked Old Crow Bourbon. For various mixes, it just works. For plan old "bourbon and water" it does the trick.
