I think the difference is just grammatically. Despite the ronunciations of the words are extremely similar, either way if you say "Whiskey" or "Whiskey" people will definitely understand what you want to drink. :D "Whiskey" or "Whiskey" may also be only a geographical issue.

Unfortunately lately I have not tried anything new (but I know I need to change this urgently because I don't like to keep repeating the same drinks at every party). A friend has been commenting on an Irish whisky that is great and I'll try it out soon when he comes back from his trip.

I'm not sure, but I think my last whisky was Jack Daniel's (on a colleague's birthday). I don't particularly like it (Jack Daniel's wouldn't be on my list of favorites), but the party wasn't mine and I didn't want to be annoying enough to refuse the drink.

I've never drank a whiskey so bad that I can rate it as the "worst I've ever drank", but one of the least that I like - please don't kill me for it :D - it's Jack Daniel's. In my opinion Jack Daniel's it's one of the most overrated brands of whisky out there.

Yeah and scotch is one of the clearest examples of this. I can't understand (but I respect the decision ;)) how anyone lets the taste of scotch dissipate in the middle of several other blends. Scotch good is scotch pure. :cool:

Some people consider me a little bit radical, but my Scotch has always to be pure. No matter the location or the temperature of the climate at the moment, my Scotch needs to be pure so that I can drink and fully appreciate the flavor.

Without thinking twice: Doritos! :) Doritos and whisky combine perfectly for me. My friends find it super strange (well... I don't care them anyway :D), but the union of the flavors looks amazing. I like another snacks too, but Doritos are just amazing!

I can't say with propriety the risks that are associated with drinking beer after whisky (I never did that) but considering the fact that I've seen many of my friends doing this... It sure it's not a good combination. Beer and whisky are two very distinct drinks to be consumed in a little time...

I can't imagine any beer that fits better with burgers than the great and delicious Budweiser. For me, this beer matches with any type of burger. Budweiser is the kind of beer that serves pretty much all the good times. It's one of my favorite beers in the whole world.
