I was 20 when I first tried whiskey! I guess I was old for my first time!! I had a whiskey sour at my cousin's wedding. I really liked it! I can't say I would have enjoyed it if I was drinking it straight though.
Has anyone heard of this? This is something that I consider a "dessert beer". It has an unusual flavor that makes it hard to pair with food or other drinks. It is better off by itself after food or as a snack. I wouldn't recommend drinking more than one in a row. The wheat is definitely...
Ah, I just asked you where you are from in one of my other posts. Too far for Jalapeno Ale...bummer.
Although the rest of us can't enjoy, I love that your favorite brewery only sells in their area. It adds to the charm of the area. What is Alpine like? And what types of other beer do they...
Where are you from? They just expanded their sales to the Chicago area! There are other ales that are similar. I will see if I can find the names of them. Although, they are more black pepper flavored than jalapeno pepper.
I have yet to find a stew that I liked it in. Most stew recipes that I have tried to make call for Guinness. I think I'd like to try a few different types before I say Guinness is the best. Have you used or had stew with another type of beer?

I'm from the Midwest (US) and whiskey/bourbon is pretty popular. Templeton Rye came out of Iowa. I have a few whiskey bars in mind that we could start at. Thanks for the advice.
You are welcome! Now, what is an IPA that you would suggest to someone who is trying to adjust their taste buds? There are so many good brews around here that I'd love to drink, but I can't get myself past that strong hop flavor.
I think beer is the king. I have only live in the Midwest for a few years, and boy is this population proud of their breweries! They should be proud, I don't think I've met a brewery yet that I haven't liked!
I have been known to enjoy a few cigars here and there. By no means am I an expert, but I like to indulge. I have encountered many men that are surprised that I smoke, but I also have met women that share my curiosity. What are your thoughts?
As beer fans, we all have stopped at local bars or breweries while traveling. Or maybe your town is home to some local breweries. What is your favorite brewery? And what did you like about them?
I drink beer pretty regularly: at least a few times a week. I try to cut back in the winter when I'm not as active. During the summer I probably drink more because of outdoor events, camping, boating, and so on. There is just something great about drinking beer in the sunshine.
I really enjoy some of our local breweries: Bent River Brewing, Great River Brewing, and Front Street Brewery. I also really like Wachusset Brew which is popular in New England. If I had to choose something that was more domestic, I would probably say Leinenkugel's was my favorite. As far as the...
I am not a huge IPA fan, not due do lack of trying! But, I've heard that Ballast Point makes a great brew. It's called Sculpin IPA. I'm not sure if it's still around or if it's sold in your area. One of my best friends had it while traveling and raved about it.
The recipe that I use to make bacon, beer and cheese dip is:
- 1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese
- 1 - 1.5 cups of sour cream
- 2 cups (at least) of shredded cheddar cheese
- Worcester sauce for taste
- l lb of bacon - crisped and shredded
- half can/bottle of favorite beer
I like to mix it...
My fiance and I would like to become whiskey connoisseurs, but we do not have much experience as far as tasting goes. I am a beer, gin, and vodka girl. He is primarily a beer drinker. What is a nice whiskey to start with? Any recommendations?
