Ballantine's is offering two oaked-up whiskies - Ballantine's 21-Year-Old Signature Oak Edition [European Oak] along with an American Oak Oak Edition to follow later on - exclusively for the travel retail sector. Ballantine's 21-Year-Old Signature Oak Edition [European Oak] will have been matured in European oak casks that have previously held sherry. Bottled at 40% alcohol content [80 proof], Ballantine's 21-Year-Old Signature Oak Edition [European Oak] is said to have notes of fruitcake, raisin and spice.

Ballantine's 21-Year-Old Signature Oak Edition [European Oak] will be available for $225 per bottle beginning in December 2015.

That's really cool, and not expensive at all considering who's selling them! Hopefully they'll be released worldwide.

The flavor sounds really good. I will have to see if it is available here. Oh would buy it for that price. It would be a great Christmas treat.
