Corey Gallegher is your – a postman from Canada is your new 2014 champion in the Beer Mile World Championships [see link below] held yesterday at the Circuit of Americas race track in Austin, Texas. Gallegher finished in 5:00.23 and won $2500 for his effort. Unfortunately, Gallegher, out of Manitoba, selected Bud Light as the beer of his choice but it was also a smart choice as the lighter beer is a better choice than a heavier beer. Gallegher defeated fellow Bud drinker Mike Cunningham, a college student from New York.

In the women’s competition, Elizabeth Herndon set a new women’s world record with a time of 6:17.76 and did it with the more exotic New Belgium Fat Tire beer.

Fat Tire is way better than Bud Light. You should be shot for choosing something as bad as Bud Light.

I agree with you but not to that extreme, haha! A lot of people like Bud Light but I can't wrap my head around it, I don't like it at all.

I really don't care for any light beer. It just tastes too flat and watered down for my likening. I really don't know how people can drink that stuff. To each his own I guess. It just isn't for me.

I was listening to a podcast called Good Job, Brain, where they discussed the training process for the beer mile. It seems like something I'd put on my bucket list, but something too intensive for my already out-of-shape body to even attempt at the moment.

Once I get back to a good workout routine, I'll try making this my second or third marathon.
