Beer With Whiskey.

There are people that like to have a shot of beer before or after they have a beer. I don't like to mix my drinks I find that it goes straight to my head and I end up missing half of what is going on around me.
Have you tried it and did you like it?

"A shot of beer" sounds a little bit weird to me. I guess you can drink beer normally, in bottles or glasses. Beer is usually not that strong as whiskey. So, this mixture won't lead to you puking somewhere in the bathroom.

I think I didn't explain it properly, I meant having a shot of whiskey before or after having a beer. Sorry.

Whiskey or Serbian brandy (Rakija) sometimes require to be put off like fire. The best way to do that is to drink beer after or if you are a *****..cat :) than you drink sparkling water. We call this combo a concrete. Another good and attractive way to be wasted is to drink submarines. It is basically drinking a big beer bottoms up but before that you just carefully drop a shot of rakija inside of beer. Mind that Rakija is much stronger than whiskey.

Not really something that crossed my mind, but I can see why it would work for some people. I guess a shot of whiskey warms them up for a round of drinking. :D

I do often mix drinks. But it doesn't follow a patter like in your example, rather I'll just have what I feel like having and during a decent night with friends that could be a mix of way too many different drinks. :D

That would do the trick. Just to keep the chill out. :D

I haven't tried it but have some friends that have and they said was that it certainly can put some hair on your chest.

I have done that before and it's not that I don't like doing it but the next day can be a killer. After the last time I promised myself I wouldn't do it again.

well I suppose you could combine beer and whiskey or use them one after another, but my question is why would you want to? I usually confine my drinking to one or another. I am not trying to get wasted. I am just enjoying some R and R.

Yup the next morning can be a little rough. :D Then again it can be a little rough even if you just stick to one type of drink. We only live once, right?

When I drink with my in laws we usually sip on double shots of Jim Bean while drinking beer. We usually end up pretty drunk pretty fast.

I really don't go by the sayings "Beer before liquor, never been sicker." I go by the saying, "Beer before liquor and anything goes because I'm not a little girl!" I can drink anything in any order without hurting the next morning.

I didn't know there was a saying related to drinking beer and whiskey, but I can see how drinking beer first would hurt the next morning. Beer is filling whiskey isn't. If you are already tipsy from drinking beer and move to whiskey, that will just finish you off.

When I am going to drink hard liquor. I always start off with a few beer and then I change over to the hard liquor.

Personally, I cannot mix hard alcohol with beer. I have taken a shot prior to drinking a beer and after drinking. Both of these times, it wasn't very enjoyable. I usually end up developing a stomach problem from mixing the alcohol and/or having a massive hangover the next day.

That's interesting most people I have seen doing that normally will have few shots and finish of with beer, but either way it should get really tipsy.

I think they call this a boiler maker or whiskey chaser, but a good reason for me to do this is to conserve my beer,so having a glass of whiskey helps you not drink all your beer (expensive or cheap beer)up. The reason people have a combination of beer and whiskey though is to produce a faster onset of the inebriating effects of alcohol.

I do not like mixing drinks while I am at the table drinking. The different brands of beer and whiskey have their own respective formulas. If these drinks are mixed manually before drinking reactions may take place inside the body which maybe undesirable.

I've tried mixing various types of drinks over the years (beer, wine, vodka and whiskey to be more precise). The results have never been good - at least in relation to my expectations :( -, but I don't regret it because since then I don't mix any type of drink aymore (except for juices :p).
