The expensive whiskies are made in smaller batches,and are more of a hand-crafted type,also the quality of grain is better as well. The marketing and packaging add to the costs also, and how long the whisky is stored at the distillery.
I think though,I will stick with the cheaper whiskies,and try to discover some good Irish whiskey that has a light and smooth character. I found one I would like to try,that has hints of toffee and vanilla, and it was around 25 dollars,and they call it Paddy?
