Balcones Teams Up With That Boutique-y Whisky Company For Single Casks
Texas-based Balcones has collaborated with UK-based That Boutique-y Whisky Company to produce four single cask American whiskey offspring.
Balcones/TBWC Two Year Old Batch One is a two-year-old single malt finished in a Balcones brimstone cask, bottled at 51.1% alcohol by volume [102.2 proof] and is said to contain notes of smoky bacon, hickory, mesquite and camp fires. Only 300 bottles are being made available for $90 per bottle.
Balcones/TBWC Three Year Old Batch Two is a single malt that has been partially-aged in a tequila cask for two years, bottled at 51.2% alcohol by volume [102.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of dried fruit. Only 212 bottles are being made available for $90 per bottle.
Balcones/TBWC Two Year Old Batch Three is a single malt finished in an Oloroso sherry cask, bottled at 47.8% alcohol by volume [95.6 proof] and is said to contain notes of plum. Only 147 bottles are being made available for $90 per bottle.
The fourth spirit is an as-yet-unnamed spirit derived from 100% blue corn, finished in Pedro Ximénez casks, is said to contain notes of blue popcorn and will be released in September 2019.
